October Break Weekend

poison-arrow-frog.jpg
Poison Arrow Frog, Dendrobates auratus, South America, captured and kept in Lincoln Park Zoo.

Went to Chicago for the October break weekend, had a smashing time at Aurora Chicago Premium Outlet, savored the best food in Chinatown, car got towed after an unruly parking offence, course through Chicago suburbs in search for a place to stay, slept 4 hours, endeavored close encounters with apes, llamas, warthogs, poison arrow frogs, rattlesnakes, geckos, lions, seals, polar bears, king penguins and oryxes at the beautiful Lincoln Park Zoo the next day, devoured cheesecakes (fresh strawberry, banana cream, chocolate mousse and tiramisu) from THE yummy Cheesecake Factory, shopped at Water Tower Center @ Michigan Av, bought Hershey's Chicago glass, strolled in CompUSA, ate in Chinatown again, got lost on the way back, Peter got ticketed for speeding, reached back home @ 5am.

Wow, what a trip.

It seems that my journeys with friends are littered with mishaps don't you think? I missed both flights to and fro London last winter; spring break to new york ended with spending a night at Chicago bus interchange after we missed the train back to West Lafayette. This time we experienced car towing and wrong directional trip to God-knows-where near the Michigan, Ohio and Indiana state borders. I can 'proudly' say i have done it all. What's next? I'm crossing my fingers to get a tornado pass by on the next road trip or get caught in a snowstorm on the highway. That would be soo exciting :P

Your car got towed and has a speeding ticket to its number plate? That's awesome! How did you guys get pulled over? Was it exactly like in the movies? You know, the cop parked his big-ass bike behind your car, walked towards the driver's side and asked in a surly voice, "Your driving licence, please" to which Peter should have replied, "How about I give you 10 bucks and you let us off, officer?". How much was the fine anyway?

Trust me, you'll want to keep your distance from tornados and hurricanes. It's not worth getting a free roller coaster ride through the atmosphere without seat belts. ;)
